Chair Lifts, Power Chairs, & Stowage Lifts
Stowage lifts have a wide variety of uses and applications, from storing scooters and manual or power chairs in the trunk, on the side or in the rear of many automobiles, trucks, minivans, and SUVs. Internal and external lifts are available with their lifting capacities ranging from 55 lbs to 400 lbs. These lifts allow the user to store scooters, manual and power chairs in the trunks of autos or the rear and side of vans or SUVs. If your vehicle is unable to accept an internal lift or seating capacity is a issue, there is a lift that will mount on the rear of most vehicles. The mounting of this lift is contingent on the vehicles payload and ability to accept a class 3 hitch. Stairway Lifts or Stair Lifts
Stairway lifts are designed to transport individuals from one floor
to the next in a home or business. Individuals using the stair lift
need to have the ability to transfer on to the seat. A manual swivel
system and remote control enable individuals with different abilities
to use the lift by themselves. Option powered swivel and hinged tracks features are also available. Hinged tracks eliminate the possibility of obscured doorways or trip hazards, providing you with a safe product that is easy to use.
Both straight and curved applications are available with the stairway lift, eliminating concerns regarding the safety or customization of
your system to meet your needs.
Overhead Lifts
For overhead lifts, track is mounted to the ceiling and has a power
unit that travels back and forth that lifts the individual in a sling
from one point to another. The most common use for this type of
lift is used to move an individual from bed to chair, chair to toilet
or tub, or from chair to other locations in the home. There are two
models available.
The PC-2
The PC-2 is a portable overhead lift unit that does not require any doorway modifications. It can be used in multiple locations
throughout the home simply by moving the power head. The unit
is a power up and down only and requires assistance back and
forth.
The C-4
The C-4 model offers power up and down and back and forth
options. Depending on the individual's capabilities, this unit can
offer independent transport from different locations throughout
the home. A typical application is a continuous run of track usually
from the bedroom area to the bathroom and to any other area
desired in the home. In most cases extensive door modifications
are required.
Different styles of slings are available to accommodate a wide
variety of needs.

Ramp Vans
Lowered floors are available in a minivan with an allowable drop of 10" which increases the interior height to approximately 67".
A typical conversion consists of a power fold out or in floor ramp. Some common options are remote entry, magnetic entry, removable driver and passenger seats and power kneel system. The remote is a single touch command that opens the passenger side center slide door or rear hatch, depending on the conversion, and
then deploys the ramp while activating the kneel system. The magnetic entry is a back up to the remote and is activated with a magnet.
The switches are located in the rear passenger side taillight. The removable driver and passenger seat are a popular option allowing the individual in a manual or power chair to ride in the passenger location if it is a transport application or in the driver's location if it is a driving application. The power kneel system allows the van's suspension to be lowered, decreasing the slope of the ramp and making it easier for a person in a manual chair to navigate the ramp's incline.
Rear Entry
A rear-entry ramp design overcomes parking limitations and difficulties
often associated with side-entry vehicles. These ramps accomodate all
types of scooters and wheelchairs, enabling individuals with various
limitations to regain their independence. Fully automated, the rear hatch
opens, the ramp unfolds and the vehicle lowers, all at the touch of a button. Whether traveling alone or assisted, some persons with disabilities find this system to be safer and more convenient to use.
Full Size Vans
Full vans can be equipped with lifts, allowing an individual to gain access into the side or rear of a van while in a scooter or manual/power chair. Lifting capabilities range from 500 lbs. to 800 lbs.
Van lifts are primarily designed to be used with a full size van depending on the application. If additional clearance is required, raised roof and doors or lowered floors are available. A full size van can be lowered
a maximum 6", increasing the interior height to approximately 67".
Ramping Systems
There are many different ramping systems available to meet virtually all accessibility needs. Our ramping solutions can be as simple as a threshold ramp or as complicated as a modular ramp system with several transitions and platforms when navigating a substantial rise. The industry standard states that for every inch of rise there should be a foot of run. We offer both portable and permanent ramp systems made of either galvanized steel or aluminum. Power Doors

Driving Aids
Driving Aids offer alternative methods of driving and operating a vehicle. Some of the most common pieces of equipment are the hand control, spinner knob, left foot gas and transfer seat.
A hand control allows the gas and brake to be deployed using your hands. The hand control is typically mounted to the left of the steering column and several inches below the turn signal. The most popular style of hand control activates the brake by pushing the handle towards the dash of the vehicle while the gas is operated by pulling the handle towards your lap.
The spinner knob is mounted on the steering wheel and assists in steering while using the hand control. The
left foot gas pedal is mounted to the left of the brake
pedal, allowing you to deploy the accelerator using
your left foot.
A left foot gas accelerator is commonly used by stroke victims or amputees without use of their right leg.
A transfer seat is a power seat base for the driver
or passenger location that offers a greater degree
of motion back and forth, up and down and also up
to a 180 degree swivel, making the transfer from their wheelchair to the factory seat easier. These driving aids are only a few of the many that are available to address special needs.
